So, What Is Teen Challenge?
Teen Challenge NorWestCal Nevada is a nonprofit residential recovery program helping men, women, teens, and entire families break free from life-controlling issues like substance abuse and trauma. These are real people who felt like they had run out of road — and found a way back.
Their approach is immersive, structured, and built around community. From teen boys men aged 18 to adult men rebuilding their lives from the ground up, Teen Challenge walks alongside every single person in their program with one goal in mind: real, lasting transformation.
Ten residential centers. Countless changed lives. And soon — one new basketball court right here in Lincoln.
Where Your Money Is Going — For Real
This year, funds raised at the 12 Bridges Rib Cook-Off will go directly toward building a basketball court for the men and youth in Teen Challenge's Lincoln program.
That might sound simple, but it's anything but.
For the men and young people in recovery, a court means more than a place to shoot hoops. It means structure, community, and a healthy outlet.
It means a place to compete, to encourage each other, to blow off steam the right way. It means something to look forward to every day.
You can't put a price on what that does for someone fighting their way back.
Your Fun = Their Future
Here's the deal: we eat, we drink, we dance, we crown a rib champion — and the money raised goes directly toward getting that court built. Every ticket you buy, every rack of ribs you devour, every sponsor who shows up — it all adds up to something permanent. Something the men and youth at Teen Challenge Lincoln will use for years to come.
That pulled pork hits different when you know what it's for.
